Each house brings just over 3,000 sqft across three floors, including a large open-plan kitchen and living space onto the garden, separate formal lounge and home office, and four double bedrooms upon the upper floors. A double height entrance and feature staircase is the centrepiece to either house.

The master suite includes an expansive dressing room with en-suite, and has the added benefit of being situated in the vaulted glazed gable, allowing for long distance views to the south.

The proposal makes use of the site’s unique topography by including a half sub-terranean garage to each house. From street level, a generous new landscaped frontage will include a series of retaining walls and steps that link the long driveway to the main entrance of either house.

The elevations follow a modern aesthetic, adopting a simplistic gable form that is resonant of the site’s context, although implemented in a more contemporary way. This rationale is further reiterated by the vertical emphasis of the front façade which amplifies its regularised proportion and scale.
A red brick was chosen as the principal material used for the external skin to reference the local built context. 

The vertical brick piers and feature gable are punctuated with elements of molded pre-cast concrete that will also form the sill detail. A high-quality slimline glazing system follows the façade rationale and affords each home to be flooded with natural light.
