The newly designed home will provide 6,500 sqft of accommodation over four floors, including an extensive basement level comprising an indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi, sauna and steam room, home gym and changing facilities, as well as a home cinema and poker room. 

The floors above will include a separate formal lounge, a large open-plan kitchen, dining living space that extends the full rear of the house, with direct access to the newly landscaped terrace through a series of sliding doors.

There are five bedrooms located on the upper floors, with the master suite comprising a large fitted dressing room, an en-suite bathroom with a vaulted ceiling and its own private terrace that overlooks the garden. The feature gables to the rear allow expansive views and light to fill the rear bedrooms, further accentuating the modern simple form of the house. A central feature of the house is the triple height entrance hall which houses the sweeping staircase that works off a focal axis point and links all four floors.

The massing and scale of the house takes on the traditional forms associated with traditional grand houses and reinterprets them through a more simplified and minimal aesthetic. The proportion of the double-fronted gable form has been carefully considered, opting for a slightly more traditional look at the front and a more open-contemporary aesthetic to the rear.

A similar approach was taken with regard to the selection of materials, choosing a simple palette of brick, render and accents of stone, but using them in a more restrained contemporary way that amplifies the clean and rational form.
